'Someone not something'
When I look at an animal,I see 'someone not something' - a living being just like me, with as much right to life on this planet as I have, another being with feelings, able to feel pain and fear and love.
I 'made the connection' when I finally stopped disassociating and started to accept the reality of where my nicely packaged meat came from. It wasn´t manuafactured, the flesh I held in my hands was a chunk of 'what' was once 'someone'.
